MEET THE MAKER
Hi there! I'm Nadia, proud small business owner, natural skincare formulator, and founder of Body Unburdened.
I lovingly design and craft each product — from the label to the unique blend of essential oils, clays, or herbal extracts — by hand.
I'm also a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner who specializes in female adult acne and hormonal health, and author of the book Glow: The Nutritional Approach to Naturally Gorgeous Skin. Yes, you could say I'm very passionate about skin health, both from the inside out and outside in!
THE BODY UNBURDENED BACKSTORY
Flash back to 7 years ago: I'm just learning about our body burden and the unhealthy chemicals in most conventional skincare products.
To be frank, I was really overwhelmed, but I knew one of the ways I could best protect my health was by making my own skincare products — knowing absolutely everything that was going into my products and on my skin.
Plus, I've always loved crafts and working with my hands, so it was just so much fun!
And as someone who had struggled with skin issues and always wanted to feel comfortable in my own skin — someone who pined for naturally beautiful, make-up-optional skin — I fell down a rabbit hole of learning about ingredients, both seemingly basic (like butters and oils) and more complex cosmeceuticals.
I documented this journey on my blog, with my readers walking right alongside me, inspiring me to continue researching and creating.
And after years and years of blog readers asking me to offer my skincare creations for sale, dreaming and planning but being way too scared, I finally took the leap in November of 2018 with the Body Unburdened Beauty Blends.
The rest is history!
Each day, I'm so grateful to be able to express and share my passion, to be part of the solution, and to have such a wonderful community that encourages and inspires me.
